Metka Skrobar
Biography

Metka Skrobar is an accomplished Australian Artist based in Southeast Queensland who has been painting professionally since 1982. Metka is an established artist and very popular art tutor who regularly travels throughout Australia conducting workshops.

She successfully conducted travelling Art Tours, visiting exotic locations from Vienna to the southern wine regions of Austria, alpine regions of Slovenia, Adriatic Coast of Croatia, Venice, Tuscany and Prague.

With her love for 'The Outback' she also frequents these remote parts of Australia to explore, discover and collate ideas which serve as an inspiration for her artworks.

Originally from Slovenia, Metka often travels to Europe where she has held solo exhibitions in her hometown of Maribor and recently in The Castle Gallery and Museum of Slovenska Bistrica, Slovenia. She has also participated in several highly regarded group exhibitions in Slovenia, Italy and Austria. Metka spent time studying under Europe’s Master Watercolourist, France Slana in 2011 and in 2019 with Austrian Contemporary Artist, Gerhard Almbauer.

Amidst an impressive and industrious career, Metka’s Curriculum Vitae reflects her professional attitude and her ability to appeal to a wider audience.
